David Mead, Ph.D., CoFounder, Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Mead has 20 years of industrial experience in R&D, sales, and management at leading biotechnology companies, including Bio-Rad, Promega, Molecular Biology Resources, Key Scientific and Chimerx. In 1998 he founded Lucigen. Dr. Mead is a recognized expert in gene cloning and genomics. He has published 20 professional articles, holds 4 patents, and has written over 50 commercial articles in basic and applied molecular biology. He has developed more than 30 commercially successful products, including the TA cloning vectors and kits which are the world’s most widely used cloning tools now manufactured by Invitrogen Corporation.

Phillip Brumm, Ph.D., CoFounder, Chief Scientific Officer. Dr. Brumm has over 20 years of experience in the development and manufacturing of industrial enzymes. Dr. Brumm was formerly Technology Manager for Enzyme Bio-Systems Ltd., a producer of enzymes for the grain processing, alcohol, and food industries, where he was responsible for new product discovery, development, manufacturing scale-up, customer support, and intellectual property management. Products Dr. Brumm developed at Enzyme Bio-Systems currently have annual sales of over $50 million. His wide range of experience encompasses protein, organic, and carbohydrate chemistries, fungal and microbial genomics and proteomics and biochemical engineering. Dr. Brumm holds 7 patents and 16 publications in these areas.

Rick Remeschatis, MBA, CFA, CPA, Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Remeschatis has over 30 years of experience in senior corporate finance and accounting positions at public companies in the utility and banking industries, and at private companies across a number of industries. He most recently has provided finance and accounting consulting services to a number of growing Wisconsin private companies through Financial Advantage, his finance consulting firm.
